Insurance Account Handler Assistant (Trainee)
SALARY: £18,000 – £19,926
LOCATION: Edenbridge, Kent
Protek Group Limited currently have an opportunity for someone dynamic to join our inherent defect and construction insurance new business team. This exciting first job role will suit someone who is looking for a progressive role in construction and latent defects underwriting. The role involves servicing customer sales and system-based underwriting and requires direct sales contact with the customer. The role is based in our Edenbridge Office.
THE ROLE
As an Account Handler Assistant (Trainee) you will form an intrinsic part of the team and be trained on our systems and processes to give you the knowledge and experience to be able to assist in the handling and processing of a range of incoming wholesale and retail enquiries on our Consumer and SME product lines.
Once you have been successful in your training, you can expect to be taking and processing applications directly from customers and assessing the risks to provide system based quotations under a delegated underwriting authority. The role requires good communication and negotiation skills and an excellent attention to detail. You will actively help the team pursue incoming opportunities to grow the book of business and to achieve its targets and objectives. This position is progressive and will allow for someone to grow professionally, so would suit a dynamic candidate who is keen on securing a career path with professional learning development through CII qualification. Full training and support will be provided.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be working to process and analyse new business enquires on a day-to-day basis, liaising with our surveyors, and providing quotations within agreed timescales and targets. Other responsibilities include:
Processing of system-based applications, dealing with customer enquires over the telephone, analysing risk, producing quotations and policy documentation to fulfil the team’s requirements for new business processing and reporting.
Handling administrative duties.
Help to maintain key relationships to support the team’s targeted new business growth.
Attendance of national tradeshows.
Working within our governance frameworks to make sure we are risk compliant as an organisation
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Exceptionally well organised with a very good attention to detail
- Ability to analyse complex information and draw out the relevant facts
- Sound product knowledge and market awareness
- Well-tuned communication skills and the ability to articulate pricing strategy and influence in the sale process
- The candidate must be looking for progression and willing to train for CII qualifications
